Day Adventure and Explore
Day 1: We
board our Royal Air Maroc jet at the JFK Airport in New York, for our
6-hour non-stop flight to Casablanca.
Day 2: Upon
arrival at Mohamed VI Airport, we will transfer to our flight for
Marrakech. Our staff will meet you at the Menara Airport in
Marrakech, assist you with customs and escort you to the hotel. Check
into the hotel, have lunch and a rest. In the afternoon, you will start
to explore the Imperial City of Marrakech. There is much to see in this
great city which Winston Churchill called "the most beautiful place in
the world at sunset". You will visit the Koutoubia Mosque with its
Minaret, walk through the famous place of Djemaa-el Fna with
its circus atmosphere of itinerant dancers, jugglers, acrobats,
storytellers, snake charmers, medicine men, and the public scribes.
Return to the hotel.
Day 3:
After breakfast, you will continue your visit in Marrakech to see the
beautiful Bahia Palace, the hidden tombs of the Saadian Dynasty, and
the Ben Yousef Medrassa, which is the Koranic school in Marrakech.
Lunch will be at one of the traditional restaurants in the old Medina.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Menara Gardens and its Pavilion,
the Majurelle Gardens, and you will walk through the Souks where you
will see some of the age old guilds at work, doing woodworking, iron
crafts, and making caftans, babouch (shoes) makers.
Day 4:
After breakfast you will drive in the Landrover 4x4 over the 2260
meters high Tizi-n-Tichka Pass to Ouarzazate. Along the way you will
see many traditional Berber villages with their farming
terraces, gardens and beautiful mountain views. After lunch
in Ouarzazate you will continue to the Roses Valley you where you will
spend the night with your trek team in a Berber family home at the foot
of the Imgoun Mountains, the second highest peak in North Africa.

10:
Trek. At around 4 PM you will meet with the driver and he will take you
to the heart of the Dades Gorge where you will stay at the La Kasbah du
la Valley Inn for the night. You will enjoy a wonderful dinner and
Berber music. Guests are encouraged to participate in the singing and
playing of instruments.
Day
11:
After breakfast you will drive to the Sahara Desert via the spectacular
Todra Gorge where you will stop for lunch. After that you
continue further towards the desert where you will meet with our camel
team and their dromedaries. Everyone is free to choose the
camel of their choice. The animals are loaded up and we ride off into
this ocean of sand at sunset. Around the firecamp you will
enjoy the music of the Bedouins while you eat Saharan food that our
nomad friends have prepared for us. You will sleep in Nomadic tents or
under the stars as you wish. You will be mesmerized by the desert night
sky and it is fun to pick out the familiar constellations and perhaps
discover new ones in the sparkling clean sky.
Day
12:
Everyone wakes up early and we walk across the dunes to see the gold
and pink sunrise. We have our breakfast, pack your gear and ride back
to where your car and driver is waiting to pick you up.
Continue to Ouarzazate via Tazarine, we will stop for lunch.
In this area of desert landscape and fortified villages, which used to
be the old caravan road bringing gold from South Africa to exchange for
sugar and salt. We will see the magnificent palm garden of the Draa
Valley. Arrive into Ouarzazate, check into the hotel.
Day
13:
After breakfast you will visit the old part of the town, where you will
see the beautiful Kasbah of Taourirte and have lunch at the Kasbah
Restaurant. In the afternoon you will drive to the oasis of
Fint where you will meet with village chief. He will bring
you to his home to drink Moroccan tea. Within this oasis
there are 50 families that still live there. They were originally
coming with their caravans of camels from Mali across the Sahara desert
and decided to stay in this "small paradise on earth" as they call
it. You will be surprised by the way they live and you will
learn about the first people who arrived in North Africa. They will let
you take pictures, visit all the houses, and they will teach you how to
make Moroccan tea.
Day
14:
After breakfast, You will drive back to Marrakech via Tizi-n-tishka.
Arriving to Marrakech check into the hotel. Free afternoon to explore
the Souks of Marrakech. Tonight you will enjoy the Arabian
fantasia dinner show.
Day
15: We
wake up early in order to have breakfast and depart for the Menara
airport where we will bid farewell to our new friends in
Morocco. Departure to New York via Casablanca.
