8 DAY CARAVAN ROAD ADVENTURE

Day 1: We board our Royal Air Maroc jet at the JFK Airport in New York, for our 6 hour nonstop flight to Casablanca.

Day 2: Upon arrival at Mohamed, VI Airport, we will transfer to our flight for Marrakech.  Our staff will meet you at the Menara Airport in Marrakech, assist you with customs and escort you to the hotel. Check into the hotel, have lunch and a rest. In the afternoon, you will start to explore the Imperial City of Marrakech. There is much to see in this great city which Winston Churchill called "the most beautiful place in the world at sunset". You will visit the Koutoubia Mosque with its Minaret, walk through the famous place of Djemaa-el Fna with its circus atmosphere of itinerant dancers, jugglers, acrobats, storytellers, snake charmers, medicine men, and the public scribes. Return to the hotel.

Day 3: After breakfast, you will continue your visit in Marrakech to see the beautiful Bahia Palace, the hidden tombs of the Saadian Dynasty, and the Ben Yousef Medrassa, which is the Koranic school in Marrakech. Lunch will be at one of the traditional restaurants in the old Medina. In the afternoon, you will visit the Menara Gardens and its Pavilion, the Majurelle Gardens, and you will walk through the Souks where you will see some of the age old guilds at work, doing woodworking, iron crafts, and making caftans, babouch (shoes) makers.

Day 4: After breakfast, you will check out the hotel and depart for Ouarzazate via one of the highest passes in the Atlas Mountains, Tizi-n-Tischka, which is 2260 meters at the top, you will stop to enjoy the "Berber whiskey" (Moroccan tea). Along the way you will see the traditional Berber farmers using the terraced style of planting for their farms on the mountains side. Before arriving to Ouarzazate you will visit the old village of Ait Ben Haddou. It is used as the location site for movies such as "The Jewell of the Nile" and "Lawrence of Arabia". Arrive into Ouarzazate and check into the hotel.

Day 5: After breakfast, you will drive further towards the Sahara desert via the beautiful Todra Gorge where you will stop for lunch, after that, you will continue through Erfoud, ZiZ and Tafilalet Valley. Arrive into Merzouga, you will meet with our camel team leader Ichou. The animals are loaded up and you will ride off into the ocean of sand at the sunset. After two and half hours ride, You will arrive at camp place in an oasis where you will spend the night. Around the farecamp you will enjoy the music and Moroccan food. You will be mesmerized by the desert night sky. You can sleep in a nomadic tent or under the stars.

Day 6: You will wake up early and walk across the dunes to see the beautiful sun-rise, you will have your breakfast, pack your gear and ride back to where your car and driver is waiting to pick you up. You will continue to Ouarzazate via Tazarine where you will stop for lunch. In this area of desert landscape and fortified villages, which used to be the old caravan road bringing gold from South Africa to exchange for sugar and salt. You will see the magnificent palm garden of the RDA Valley.  Arrive into Ouarzazate, check into the hotel.

Day 7: After breakfast, you will continue to Marrakech via Tizi-n-Tishka pass. You will see Berber farmers working on their terraced farms, and herding sheep. Arriving to Marrakech and checking to the hotel.

Day 8: After breakfast, you will depart for the Menara airport in Marrakech where you will bid farewell to Morocco.  You will fly to New York via Casablanca.
